Your Summer Hair Problems Solved

On January 5, 2016 by Lissa Logan

Instead of beachy waves, you’ve greasy and limp…or frizzy…or brittle hair.

Summer sun is very hard on hair. So how can you manage—dare we say, even tame—the elements?

It’s possible, so listen up!

Let’s start with chlorine water. It really can change the colour of your locks, especially if your hair is very light.

Chlorine can also make your hair very brittle. So before you jump into that inviting pool, soak your hair with plain water.

It will bind to your hair making it harder for the chlorine to get in. You can also use a leave in conditioner to achieve the same results.

Follow with a hair mask to repair damage and seal the cuticle.

Got greasy hair? In the summer, washing your hair, especially if it’s longer is fine. Sunscreen from your back and shoulders makes hair dirtier. Go for it!

Sun damaged hair. The sun breaks down strong keratin bonds causing weaker strands and fading colour. Use a UV hair product to protect those locks., then follow with a leave in conditioner.

Frizz. Stay away from heavy products. Use anti-frizz serum or stray and silicone-based products to tame and smooth.
Now you’re ready for summer fun!
